Awakening

©2005 Elizabeth.

I've always been drawn to the image of the meditating Buddha. I painted this hoping to evoke a feeling of peace & tranquility.

For quite a while I have felt like this painting is not finished. I'm really not happy with how his jawline fades into shadow - I suppose one of these days, I'll pull it down from the wall and work on it...

Hi Beth,
I am also interested in images of the Buddha. I like your painting; the facial features are great! :-) Perhaps if some of the darks are made darker, the painting will be bolder. Thanks for your comment on my drawing which took about 1 hour to complete (I am guessing). Your artwork is very lovely.

Wow.

Gorgeous stuff, Beth!

The blue landscape is fantastic, but I love what you've dome with this statue image.

Buddha wasn't Asian, if that is where you're going with the eyes. He was actually an Indian prince. You did give him a lovely sense serenity, though. Good job.
